YouTube as a Character Education-Based Medium through Rokan Hulu Folk Songs in Literature Learning within the Society 5.0 Era

Abstract

This research aims to describe the use of YouTube media based on character education in Rokan Hulu folk songs in literature learning in the era of society 5.0. This type of research is qualitative research with descriptive methods. Data collection techniques use observation, interviews and documentation.  The research results show that (1) there is a need for innovation in Indonesian literary learning media in the era of society 5.0; (2) the use of the YouTube application as a literary learning medium based on character education in Rokan Hulu folk songs makes students interested, learning is more fun and shapes students' character; (3) Using the YouTube application as a learning medium makes it easier for students to understand teaching material and improves the moral crisis that occurs in the era of society 5.0. The conclusion of this research is that the use of the YouTube application as a literary learning medium based on character education in Rokan Hulu folk songs is able to create interesting innovations in learning and shape students' character in the era of society 5.0.
